You may not realise it, but you're constantly doing life around your furniture. Dirt and dust from shoes can contaminate the fabric on chairs or sofas for example. It's important to clean upholstery regularly in order to keep them looking good as new!

It is important to keep upholstery clean as it can affect the air quality in your home. Every time you sit on your furniture, not only are you releasing dust and dirt into the air of your home but also dead skin cells which can lead to allergic reactions. Although we can use a good air filter to reduce the amount of dust and particles in our home, it is still important to remove the hidden allergens and dust on our upholstered furnitures that we can't see.

Bacteria and Allergies

Dust mites, animal dander are common allergens that reside all over the upholstered furniture in your home. These dust particles will often transfer to our clothing or skin which is why it's important to clean them regularly as they may cause allergy attacks such as sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes.

Mould

Air conditioning units can cause condensation to form on furniture during the cold winter months which in turn causes moulds growth on our soft furnishings . Regular cleaning is important because these spores will only grow if they have enough moisture content present.

Your furniture will last longer if they are properly cared for which includes regular cleaning. You might not realise this but your couch or sofa can be stained just from food spills even though you might not see them.

Smells

When you wear shoes indoors, they bring in dirt and dust which can transfer onto your furniture especially if it is dark or has a light colour fabric such as cream. Dirt on the upholstery will cause smells too that may come from pets who are prone to urinating on furniture or children who wet the sofa.

Appearance

The upholstery on furniture tends be one place where dirt builds-up easily because fingers often come in contact with this part when they’re touching other things which have dust or grime sticking onto them from time to time.

Your upholstery will look better for longer if you clean it properly. The upholstery fabric on your furniture may start to fade or make the stains more visible which is why regular upholstery cleaning and polishing are important.

• Determine which type of upholstery cleaning you want: Hot Water Extraction or Dry Cleaning.
• Do the vacuuming process before to remove any dust, hair and other particles from the surface of your sofa.
• Remove all personal items such as pillows, cushions etc so that they won't be damaged in the process.
  
• Remove any items that have sharp edges, this will avoid scratches on your furniture from occurring during cleaning.
  

• The sofa will be vacuumed first with a dry brush attachment before getting wet. This process removes any embedded dirt, dust and sand particles in the fabric so that it doesn't just mix into the water later on when sprayed onto your furniture.
• After vacuuming is complete, we can then start spraying hot or cold water onto the upholstery.
• The water will then be sprayed onto the soiled areas of your sofa with an attachment that has a soft and wide brush on it, which scrubs away any dirt or stains from your upholstery.
• After the sofa cleaning process is complete we can dry your furniture using either hot air extraction or cold air extraction.
